Tips for a Successful Supply Drive:

• Find a location – Approach various businesses, organizations or community centers (where you work, the library, day care centers, local schools, YMCAs, medical offices, banks, etc.) Talk to them about China Care and your intention to hold a supply drive for Chinese orphans. Ask if they would be interested in partnering with you to gather supplies. They would need to agree to house a collection box on their premises for a pre-determined time period.

 

• Advertise – You are invited to create your own flyer, poster or index cards for advertising or, you can use the sample flyer provided on our website. Make sure to list the location, items you are looking to collect, and duration of your supply drive. Leave flyers at the venue and obtain permission to post them around the community and at schools. Word of mouth works just as well!

 

• Collection box – Use a box large enough to hold the supplies you are asking for. Make sure the box is clearly marked and list the items you are looking to collect. Decorating can make it fun!

 

• Collect - On the designated date, collect the items from places where you stationed drop off boxes. Remember to thank the venue for partnering with you!

 

• Ship – Package the items properly and contact the China Care Foundation, Inc. for the best way to ship your supplies to our location.

 

The effort you put into collecting these items will have a long lasting effect on the lives of the orphans they help!
