As we enter the Year of the Dragon, it is with pride and enthusiasm that Half the Sky Foundation (HTS) and China Care Foundation (CCF) jointly announce a further deepening of their partnership.

Together we have established the China Care Home in Beijing, which under the management of HTS, has cared for and provided life-saving surgeries for more than 560 medically fragile Chinese orphans since 2009. Since our founding, CCF has changed the lives of nearly 1,400 children. Many of these children have since been adopted into loving families.

Support Xue

Xue was born with a unilateral cleft lip, a birth defect that occurs when the tissues of the upper jaw and nose do not join properly during fetal development, resulting in a split in the lip. Her health has been compromised due to the fact that she cannot eat properly. Xue needs surgery to repair her cleft lip and palate to ensure long-lasting health.

China Care is seeking to raise $500 to cover the costs of her care before, during, and after the surgery to correct her cleft lip. Please help us give little Xue the chance to live the normal, healthy life she deserves!

Summer Volunteering at the China Care Home - Final Day

The China Care volunteer program is different than I expected it to be. When I arrived here, I found out that we would get to visit the Great Wall. This news surprised me in a good way—I realized the program is a good balance of sightseeing and working with the kids.

Volunteering at the China Care Home - Wenjing Chen – Day 8

We are always told to appreciate how fortunate we are, but being at the China Care Home, we can truly understand what this means. We are so fortunate to have parents who love us and relatives who care for us. The children here, many with serious conditions such as heart defects and spinal bifida, were abandoned and left alone, with no one to love and care for them. At the China Care Home, they not only receive the best medical support possible, but also the love and care of the nannies.
