As we enter the Year of the Dragon, it is with pride and enthusiasm that Half the Sky Foundation (HTS) and China Care Foundation (CCF) jointly announce a further deepening of their partnership.
Together we have established the China Care Home in Beijing, which under the management of HTS, has cared for and provided life-saving surgeries for more than 560 medically fragile Chinese orphans since 2009. Since our founding, CCF has changed the lives of nearly 1,400 children. Many of these children have since been adopted into loving families.
Now, effective February 1, 2012, CCF will be transferring fundraising responsibility for the China Care Home and management responsibility for its China Care Clubs to HTS.
Both of us believe this is a logical and positive step in the evolution of our partnership. HTS is well established operationally in China and has a sterling reputation and track record of strong management, growth, and success built over thirteen years. In addition, the HTS mission and other programs complement CCF’s mission and the China Care Home. For these reasons we believe fundraising efforts and the Clubs will benefit from this strategically proactive transition.
The China Care Foundation and its Board of Directors will continue to provide significant financial support for the China Care Home and Club programs and monitor their development and activities. We encourage those who have so generously given in the past to donate to Half the Sky Foundation so the crucial work China Care Foundation began 11 years ago will endure.
The best news is that the mission and goals of our organizations have not changed--both organizations operate with the welfare of China’s most vulnerable children in mind. We expect this deepening of our partnership and further integration of operations under the auspices of HTS will enhance prospects for the China Care Home, the Clubs, and most importantly, orphaned children in China.
