So You Think BU Can Dance 2011

October 25, 2011

On Saturday, October 15th 2011, Boston University’s China Care Fund (BUCCF) hosted its second annual “So You Think BU Can Dance” event. The show is an energy filled competition where audience members vote on their favorite BU dance group. This year there was an amazing line-up which included six Boston University (BU) student dance groups and a special exhibition performance by Phunk Phenomenon.

Around 100 dancers performed varying dance styles from hip hop, stepping to cultural performances for over 200 audience members. In the end, the audience voted for BU Jalwa to take home the title as this year’s champions by showcasing their Indian culture with a mix of hip hop.

For the closely contested runner-up title, the girls of BU Vibes brought a powerful theatrical and urban energy to the stage. BU Fusion, X-ception, Dancers Anonymous, and Bulletproof Funk all brought fierce performances to top off an amazing night.

BUCCF would like express our appreciation and thank all the audience members, dancers, staff and club members for making this show possible and supporting China Care’s cause. We are glad to have raised over $2,000 from the show’s proceeds to fund life changing surgeries through the China Care Foundation.
