October 5, 2011
It was a beautiful autumn morning on September 26, 2011, when nearly one hundred and twenty golfers gathered at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune, New Jersey, for the fourth annual J.P. Morgan Technology Group golf outing to benefit China Care. This year’s event was proudly sponsored by Cisco, Compucom, CS Technology & IBM, among other notables. The J.P. Morgan Technology Group has been hosting the outing since 2007. J.P. Morgan staff, colleagues, clients and volunteers from the New York office came out for a relaxing day of golf, that ultimately saves the lives of many children in need.
After a sunny day on the course, participants sat down for dinner and took part in both a live and silent auction as well as various raffles. The auctions included sports memorabilia, an iPad, golf gear and outings at exclusive clubs. Prizes and trophies were also awarded to the first, second and third place foursome, as well as to the golfer who got closest to the pin and had the longest drive. Event attendees even had a chance to read through a book full of photos and stories of the many children that the annual golf outings have saved over the years. So many of the guests were touched reading about the dozens of smiling children and how their road to recovery was paved, that they took the books back to display at their offices.
To date, the J.P. Morgan Technology Group has raised over half a million dollars! They have sponsored two nursery rooms at the China Care Home in Beijing, funded 77 surgeries and have provided pre and post operative care to countless special needs children.
Their dedication to China’s orphans is inspirational and the impact this outing has made on hundreds of children’s lives is immeasurable. Thank you JP Morgan team!
