Foster
Care Program
We
believe that every child needs a family. Our Foster Care Program makes
it possible for each child to have a family of his own. No matter how
wonderful our China
Care Children's Homes are, they can never compare to the love and
attention provided by a family. We strive to place orphans in loving families
by promoting foster care through:
Orphanage Foster Support
We help local orphanages to place more children in foster care by funding
their own foster care programs. You can learn more about how we support
local orphanage foster care programs here.
China
Care Foster Program
China Care has its own foster care program in which we place the children
who have received care and treatment though our Children’s Homes
and Medical Programs. We not only provide training, oversight and a fair
stipend, we also ensure that foster parents receive the items they need
to care for the child, such as warm clothing, medicine, wheelchairs, special
feeding bottles, special beds and cribs, and other needed items. China
Care continually evaluates the quality of care of the children receive.
Our Foster Program coordinators are always available if foster parents
have questions or concerns. It is not uncommon for these foster parents
to fall so in love with their child that they apply to the local government
authorities for a permanent legal adoption.
Group
Educational Foster Homes
China Care has also developed a very unique foster care program that is
designed to meet the needs of disabled children as they grow. Because
China does not have programs in public schools that are adapted to meet
the needs of children with disabilities, these children are unable to
attend school. China Care’s Group Educational Foster Homes fill
that need. We place four or five school age disabled children together
in a foster family, and we provide an experienced teacher who comes to
them and teaches a standard Chinese curriculum in their home. This model
has proven to be extremely successful in giving these bright children
a normal education and valuable life skills as they grow.
